How to drink A LOT of water - How much water should I drink daily?
As you know, water is a really important step to be healthy and feel good. Because your body contains so much of it, you need to stay hydrated.
I did a lot of research to find out how much water you should drink daily so you can know what quantity you need and I decided that I'm going to share with you how you can remember to drink that much.
How much water you drink depends on many factors like:
Your height and weight
Weather (drink more when it's hot and humid)
Your health (sick)
To help you understand how much water you need based on your age and gender, I made this visual representation:
Most of what is written is from https://www.healthline.com/health/how-much-water-should-I-drink#recommendations and https://www.nap.edu/read/10925/chapter/6#74
On http://www.theveggiegoddess.com/drink-half-your-body-weight-in-water/ , the writer says that you should drink half your body weight of water a day. That sounds like a lot, doesn't it? It's still an actual fact. Divide your weight in lbs by 2 and drink the result in oz.
Now that you know how much you should drink, you need to get to the tricky part: actually drink that amount. It may be hard, but you have to persevere, remember all the good it does to your body!
You absolutely need to take one glass of water after waking up. You just spent then last 8 hours without drinking anything, so it's really important that you do that. Plus, it's a great way to wake up in the morning.
Drink one glass half an hour before eating, it'll be easier for your body to digest the food.
Take one glass after working out, but don't drink it too fast!
It is recommended to drink a glass of water before going to bed to prevent you from having a stroke or a hearth attack.
When you're sick or around sick people, you need to drink a lot of water. It'll help you feel better or prevent you from getting sick.
Drink one glass when you're feeling hungry, it'll help you know if it's real hunger or gluttony.
Now that you know when you should drink water, it's time you know how to remember to do so. You can:
Mark at what time you want to drink a certain quantity on your water bottle;
Make a schedule;
Write it in your bullet journal;
Always have a glass or a bottle of water with you (on your desk, in your bag, etc);
Bring an extra water bottle if you know you won't have the chance to refill yours;
We hope you found this post helpful and that you now know more about your daily water intake. Don't forget why you initally red this post and you should be good.
